Women in the film

I spent this week to read books that relate to my focus – women in the film. a book The Power of The Image mentioned that ” glamorous image of woman is peculiarly powerful in that plays on the desire of the spectator in a particularly pristine way”,  in all forms of representation, women is always transforming into object, it also can be describe as an object of desire. I am interesting how the film framed the female body and pose in different type of movies. Some of senses corps the frame as if something is still going on even we don’t see outside of the frame, at that moment it brings imagination and space for spectators.

In the next couple weeks, I will start my experiment with woman in film by cropping or use the original scene. And continue reading.

The two pictures show different cropping of women.
